The end of the 2012 Dakar Rally for Mark McMillin was announced early this morning after the multi-time Baja 1000 / Baja 500 Champion hopes for a successful Dakar Rally were sunk when the McMillin Racing Dakar Team suffered mechanical failure that forced them to the sidelines.

Andy McMillin, 24, and his father Scott McMillin, 51, of San Diego, teamed as they did in this race in 2009 to capture the overall 4wheel title in the granddaddy of all desert racing in their No. 31 McMillin Realty Ford F-150 SCORE Trophy Truck. The featured SCORE racing division has a race-high 29 starters.

Daniel McMillin Claims VICTORY at SCORE San Felipe Challenge of Champions
Friends, this past Saturday, we raced in San Felipe. It was the SCORE Primm race that was moved to San Felipe. The SCORE, San Felipe Challenge of Champions started Saturday morning at 7am and was the same rough course that we all raced in March. It was 252 miles of bumps.

The third race of the five-race 2011 SCORE Desert Series finished along Ensenada’s world famous Malecon in front of thousands of fans who all gathered to watch the world’s top desert racers battle for the SCORE Baja 500 victory.

The 2011 SCORE Baja 500 was a big success. Luke and Justin Smith won the ultra competitive1600 class by 1hr and 24 minutes over second place. This marks Luke’s first ever Baja victory.

Driving the McMillin Realty #31 Trick Truck, Andy McMillin set the stage with an excellent qualifying run finishing first among the large field of BITD Trick Trucks. Ready to roll before the sun rose on Saturday morning, Andy climbed into the Geiser-built Kroyer Racing Engines powered truck for another day at the office.

Dan McMillin Starts the Season off with a WIN
Daniel McMillin raced hard behind the wheel of his single seat McMillin Homes class 1-2/1600 both Saturday and Sunday to take the win by three seconds over Arnoldo Ramirez. Luke McMillin drove his two seat McMillin Racing both days of racing at the 2011 SCORE season opener with Andy DeVercelly riding in that right seat. Luke put his #1600 in the lead after day one of racing and drove conservatively on Sunday to preserve the finish in hopes of repeating his class Championship.

Fielding three race cars at the 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 was quite an endeavor for Mark McMillin and his McMillin Homes race team. By the time the last of his three race vehicles had reached the finished line of the 1061-mile race, he and his sons, Daniel and Luke, celebrated a season championship and two top ten finishes.
