What started out as a hobby to spend time with family and friends, Corky McMillin raced for over 30 years. Always an innovator, Corky was the first to introduce the Porsche engine to the sport and in 1994 won 1st in his class at the Baja500 with it. Corky has been a consistent finisher in the top five of Class 1 for a number of years. The last car that Corky raced was a Chenowth chassis with a Mid-II V-8 Chevy engine. He also was the chief designer and manufacturer of a new automatic transaxle.Corky's philosophy was "Know the course and be prepared". He studied and strategized every detail of the course long before race day.

DANIEL MCMILLIN

As the son of multiple Baja 1000 overall champion, Mark McMillin, Daniel, Mark’s oldest son, was immediately bred into the life of off-road racing. At a very young age Daniel began pre-running with father Mark and grandfather Corky, for the Baja 1000's and Baja 500's. This was the beginning of the first hand experience it takes to become successful in desert racing. In 2001, Daniel rode in the FUD Dunaway Dash in his father’s Class 1 car that was then Porsche powered.

In 2002, McMillin Racing introduced a Jimco 2/1600 car to the ranks and in 2003 Daniel raced his first race at the FUD King of the Desert 250. It was not only Daniel’s first race, but it was here that he captured his first class win. Over the next 7 years, Daniel continued to race in the highly competitive 1600 class. He raced 4 SCORE Baja 1000 races finishing them all, as well as winning the 2007 SCORE Baja 250 with partner, Caleb Gaddis. Daniel earned 2 Toyota Tru-Grit awards for completing every required mile in the SCORE Championship Desert series. Then in 2009, Daniel began racing his father’s Jimco-Chevy powered Class 1 car in the local Plaster City races where he earned his first overall victory in the 2009 Superstition 250.

In 2010, Daniel is pursuing a SCORE Class 1 season championship. He and Kory Halpanoff are only separated by 2 points as the SCORE Baja 1000 will be the deciding race for this year’s championship.

In 2005, Daniel’s father Mark won the SCORE Class 1 championship and it would be something to see if Daniel can accomplish the same feat only 5 years later. Daniel thanks his many supporters, team members, dedicated crew along with his sponsors for their continued support in his quest for winning championships.
